Your spice cabinet is a tiny apothecary. Garlic, ginger, rosemary, thyme, sage, turmeric, and other familiar kitchen favorites have been valued for centuries as medicine.
In this practical, food-forward class, we’ll explore how to sneak more herbs into the meals you already make, without complicated recipes, expensive ingredients or suddenly feeling as though you need to cook dinner in a bigger cauldron. (Of course, no judgement if you DO cook dinner in a bigger cauldron... )
Learn simple ways to use herbs in soups, sauces, grains, vegetables, dressings, teas, and everyday meals; which herbs play especially well together; when fresh or dried makes a difference; and a few tricks for getting much more flavor from the herbs you already have on hand.
We’ll also look at some familiar culinary plants with fresh eyes, exploring their traditional uses and why humans have been putting them into our food for centuries. Herbalism doesn’t always require droppers, capsules, and loads of jars. Sometimes it looks remarkably like lunch. Come away witha packet of easy ideas you can take home to your own kitchen. No herbal or culinary expertise required.
